The Presidential Library collection National periodicals has been enriched with the magazine Rodina, digital copies of which were provided by the editorial staff of the "Rossiyskaya Gazeta".

The historical popular and science magazine (previously a socio-political, popular scientific illustrated magazine) "Motherland" is published monthly in Moscow since 1989. The founders of the magazine are: the Government of the Russian Federation, the Administration of the President of the Russian Federation. Editorial staff and publisher: Editorial Board of the Rossiyskaya Gazeta (since March 2014). The main editors of the magazine at different times were: A. A. Sovtsov (1989), V. P. Dolmatov (1990-2006), Y. A. Borisenok (2007-2014), V. A. Fronin (since 2014). From 1993 to 2003 there was an application - the magazine "Istochnik". There is an online version of the magazine: https://rodina.rg.ru/.

The pages of the magazine "Rodina" reflect scientific and popular science materials on issues of national and world history; Unique photos are placed; Regularly issue special thematic issues. Among the authors of the magazine there are well-known historians, archaeologists, writers and publicists.

To date, the Presidential Library portal presents issues for 2015-2017.

From December 7 to December 29, 2016 in the Presidential Library, as part of the development of cooperation with the editorial board of “Rossiyskaya Gazeta”, a multimedia exhibition "The Year of the Rodina" 2016: Historical Events in People's Stories "was held. The exposition was timed to coincide with the 15th anniversary of the St. Petersburg branch of the “Rossiyskaya Gazeta”.

The opening of the multimedia exhibition was attended by representatives of the regional branches of the editorial staff of the "Rossiyskaya Gazeta", the magazine "Rodina", employees of the M. Y. Lermontov Interregional Centralized Library System, officers of the Navy.

At the working meeting of the leaders of the "Rossiyskaya Gazeta" with the Director General of the Presidential Library, further plans for the development of cooperation were discussed. It was decided to organize oral editions of the “Rodina” magazine in the video lecture hall of the Presidential Library "Knowledge about Russia" with the inclusion of a wide range of participants through video bridges with library access centers in the regions, and also to realize mutual participation in projects dedicated to the 100th anniversary of the revolution in 2017.
