Languages of the World: International Linguistic Salon “Expolangues” is held in Paris

The use of digital technologies in teaching of foreign languages will be the keynote at the opening on February 6, 2013 in Paris the International Linguistic Salon Expolangues. Their developments in this field will be presented by Russia, which is the traditional participant of the exhibition.

At the interactive stand, set up with the participation of the Russian Centre of Science and Culture in Paris, the leading Russian universities and specialized publishers will present the latest techniques and training distance programs in the Russian language, which will be showcased as innovative developments related to the project “Skolkovo”. In addition, as part of the salon will be held the Russian-French conference on the role of the Russian language in the world, and there will be presented a new translation of Pushkin's “Eugene Onegin” in French.

“Rossotrudnichestvo will present Intergovernmental program of innovation cooperation among the CIS countries up to 2020, aimed at the mobilization and development of scientific and technological potential and the formation of innovative staffing interstate cooperation”, - said at the Russian stand.

According to the head of the representative office of Rossotrudnichestvo in the French Republic Igor Shpynov, “the country's participation in the salon is a sign that the national language attaches a great importance as an integral part of its overall political and humanitarian image”. “The Annual participation of our country in the cabin Expolangues symbolizes seriousness of Russia's intentions to promote the international position of the Russian language in the world, to defend them in competition with other languages, by means of international communication”, - he stressed.

The International Linguistic Salon Expolangues is by far one of the largest and most prestigious venues in the world for the promotion of linguistic diversity of foreign countries, especially in Europe. Each year the event attracts more than 200 exhibitors and thousands of visitors.
