The idea to create the first evolution museum in Russia belonged to the young professor of the Moscow Higher Women's Courses, Aleksandr Fedorovich Kotsu. Over 110 years the collections, which the founder of the museum collected with obsession together with his wife Nadezhda Ladigina-Kotts, rose to 400,000 items. More than 50,000 of them were received in the last 10 years

For the visitors of the exhibition, an educational program has been developed - intellectual contests for beginner collectors and experienced experts of the Darwin Museum, creative contests "I am a patron" and "Collection + concept = exposition". The best entries will be exhibits of the exhibition, and their authors will be awarded at the closing ceremony on November 26.
