12 August 2017

The Vologda region hosts the festival "From Totma to California", dedicated to the 880th anniversary of the city and the 205th anniversary of the fortress of Fort Ross. The large-scale event is held from 11 to 13 August 2017 and is dedicated to the key moments associated with the Russian-American history of the Totem land.

Within the framework of the festival, a video bridge will be held and the chime of the bells between Totma and the American fortress of Fort Ross, founded by the totem leader Ivan Kuskov, will sound again. The tradition of chimes appeared in 1991. Residents and visitors of the city are invited to the site near the Museum of Church Antiquities, where you can hear amazing bell-shaped overflows.

Within the framework of the festival, the opening ceremony of the "Cultural Quarter" will be held. This is a kind of open-air museum, where various art objects are collected. The staff of the Totem Museum Association took part in its creation.
