In 1931, after the release of volume 8, it was divided into 3 publications: "Proceedings of the Geological Institute", "Proceedings of the Paleozoological Institute" and "Proceedings of the Petrographic Institute."
It was formed during the division of "Proceedings of the Geological and Mineralogical Museum named after Peter The Great Academy of Sciences of the Union of Soviet Socialist Republics. "
