The value of this book is that it is a diary of a famous Russian surgeon and anatomist of the nineteenth century. I. V. Buyalsky. Ilya V. Buyalsky is an Honored Professor at the Imperial Medical and Surgical Academy (currently the S.Kirov Military Medical Academy in St. Petersburg), a member of the medical council of the Ministry of the Interior. IV Buyalsky is the author of the first in Russia guide to plastic anatomy, as well as "Anatomico-surgical tables explaining the production of tying large arteries." IV Buyalsky bought the Christian Monthlys in the early 1820s. The surgeon made about 50 notes in it from 1838 to 1866. about his family and historical events of his time, for example, about marriage and the death of his parents, about the attempt on Alexander II, about the biggest flood in St. Petersburg in 1824 .
