The film introduces the viewer to the asceticism of the first patriarch of the Russian Church of Job. His name, unfairly forgotten, stands in line with the names of Alexander Nevsky and Dmitry Donskoy, Minin and Pozharsky. The action takes place in the ancient Russian cities: Moscow and Staritsa, Kolomna and Rostov the Great. On the screen, the character of a patriot, a champion for the purity of the Orthodox faith and a single Fatherland, was recreated. In 1607, shortly before his death, Job in the Kremlin Uspensky Cathedral accepted the national repentance, released sins to those who blindly swore an impostor and foreign protege False Dmitri I. The film uses unique images: icons, ancient parsons, engravings, temple murals , facial drawings.
