The Presidential Library hosted events dedicated to the 1150th anniversary of the origin of the Russian statehood.
Prime Ministers of Russia, Belorussia and Kazakhstan held negotiations at the Presidential Library
June 15, 2012 the Presidential library hosted the working meeting of Prime Minister of the Russian Federation Dmitry Medvedev and the heads of governments of the Republic of Belarus and the Republic of Kazakhstan. During the meeting were discussed issues of building up countries’ cooperation in the framework of the Customs Union and the Eurasian Economic Community.
Presidential Library announces the III Photo contest
June 14, 2012 in the Presidential Library opened the III International Photo Contest «Foreign View». The same day the round table was held, where purposes and problems of photo contests organizers could face with were discussed.
Electronic reading room of the Presidential Library is now in Barnaul
June 8, 2012 in the main building of the Altai State University opened an electronic reading room with access to the resources of the Presidential Library. It is intended for students, graduate students and university professors, as well as researchers and teachers of Barnaul.
Guests from the University of Maryland visited the Presidential Library
June 5, 2012 students and teachers of the University of Maryland visited the Presidential Library. The delegation was led by Helen Lukert, head of social sciences and humanities, library director at the university. The visit was of friendly nature.
The Presidential Library and the “Nazarbayev Center” discussed the ways of cooperation
June 5, 2012 the Presidential Library was visited by a delegation from the "Nazarbayev Center" - a multifunctional scientific and analytical, humanitarian and educational institution, opened at the beginning of the year in Kazakhstan. During the visit the guests were informed about the activities of the library.
School librarians from Russia and USA met at the Presidential Library
May 30, 2012 in the Boris Yeltsin Presidential Library took place an international round table on "Information literacy in the school library: modern technologies and innovations of the 21st century." Russian and U.S. experts shared their experiences in using modern library technologies in their countries.
The Presidential Library signed a cooperation agreement with the Tambov Region
On the eve of the All-Russian Library Day, in Tambov, the Presidential Library Director General Deputy for branches, S. M. Makeev met with the governor of the Tambov Region, O. I. Betin. In the course of the visit they exchanged documents on cooperation between the Presidential Library and the regional administration.
Anti-drug agencies’ representatives from Russia and USA met at the Presidential Library
24 May 2012 the Boris Yeltsin Presidential Library hosted the sixth meeting of the Working group on counteraction against the illegal drug trade, created within the bilateral Russian-American presidential committee. The participants of the meeting discussed problems of joint struggle with the global drug threat.
The Presidential Library’s electronic reading room opened in Kishinev
May 24, 2012 in Moldova, the Boris Yeltsin Presidential Library opened the eleventh center of access to its electronic resources abroad. Its presentation was held within the opening of the Russian Center for Science and Culture (RCSC) in Moldova, whose visitors will have an opportunity to use the Presidential Library’s holdings.
