Marking the National Unity Day, the Presidential Library’s portal provides films, video lectures and concerts

The films and video lectures prepared by the Presidential Library, as well as country's leading film studios, are now broadcast around the clock on the Presidential Library’s portal. Now users from any region of Russia from Kaliningrad to the Far East, as well as from other countries, have an opportunity to learn about them.   

The screening of films and video lectures is timed to coincide with memorable and significant dates, as well as major events in the Presidential Library.

In accordance with the program of broadcasts on the National Unity Day, November 4, users will be able to watch the video of the open lesson of the winner of the All-Russian contest "Teacher of the Year of Russia - 2018" Alikhan Dinaev, which will focus on the history and significance of the Russian public holiday.

Without leaving home, it will be possible to virtually visit the exhibition of the Presidential Library "Time of Troubles and its images in national science and culture". The presented exhibits tell about the events and figures of that period, as well as how they were evaluated in different historical eras.

Portal users will be offered a video about the collection of the Presidential Library dedicated to the Time of Troubles. Viewers will learn about a variety of documents and materials that spotlight the state of Muscovy on the eve and during the Time of Troubles, the struggle of various political forces for the Moscow throne and the popular movement against the conquerors. The collection is available on the Presidential Library’s portal.

Thanks to another presentation video, it will be possible to learn about the collection of the Presidential Library, which represents the Russian people as a source of power, population, ethnicity, society, the driving force of history. The collection includes digital copies of archival materials, abstracts, monographs, full texts of dissertations, periodicals and audiovisual documents and is also freely available.

Also the TV program of the holiday features a video recording of a concert with the participation of the State Kremlin Orchestra of the Administrative Directorate of the President of the Russian Federation. Honored artists of Russia, soloists of leading theaters of the country, laureates of international contests will perform musical works by Gliere, Rimsky-Korsakov, Mussorgsky, Tchaikovsky, Prokofiev, Verdi, Bizet, Rossini and other famous composers. All speeches are united by the theme of Russian statehood, the history of our country.

On the occasion of the 135th anniversary of Samuil Marshak, the film "In Search of the Lost Mail" will be shown. It tells about the first sound Soviet cartoon - a fifteen-minute adaptation of the famous children's poem by Marshak by Mikhail Tsekhanovsky. The preface to the animated film was written by Daniil Kharms, the music was composed by Vladimir Deshevov. The Mail was released in 1930, but by the end of the 1950s it was considered lost. The plot for the documentary essay was the search for a sound version of the cartoon, as well as a story about people who devote their lives to the study of cinema, about film historians, archivists, critics and museum workers, about organizations that preserve the cinematic heritage.
