The Presidential Library will host a business game "Your Choice"

March 13, 2018 at 16:00 the Presidential Library will host a business game "Your Choice" among high school students, dedicated to the right to vote and timed to the election of the President of Russia. This is the second stage of the game, which has great socio-political significance.

In the electronic reading room, schoolchildren will get familiar with the materials of the thematic collection of the Presidential Library "The Electoral System in Russia: History and Modernity", which will help them to find the right solutions and answers to the game's questions. The collection includes more than 200 items of storage and gives a holistic view of the history of the formation of the electoral law in our state, and also illuminates its current state.

The event, which will be attended by the winners of the school tours of the program "Your Choice" from the Vyborg district of St. Petersburg, will take place in the form of presidential elections. Each team will act as the electoral headquarters of the virtual party and nominate its candidate. The participants are to prepare brief abstracts of their electoral program, find answers to complex questions from the history of the electoral law, solve situational problems, and, most importantly, take part in voting.

On the same day, schoolchildren will be able to get familiar with a selection of "Patriotic Periodicals in the Presidential Library collections". It will be especially cognitive for young correspondents of the journalism studio "Reporter", who will cover the results of the game in their publications. Beginning journalists prepare educational and thematic materials for the regional newspaper "Shkolny Reporter", the subjects of which cover not only the issues of academic life, but also the activities of the Russian schoolchildren's movement. Thanks to cooperation with professional urban media, high school students have the opportunity to develop professional skills, to learn to evaluate important social phenomena in the state. That is why the receipt of basic knowledge of the role and significance of elections, their history in different periods of life of the state is extremely important in the system of modern education.

The organizer of the event along with the Presidential Library is the publisher of the newspaper "Shkolny reporter" - GBU DO DDT "Yunost’" of the Vyborg district of Saint-Petersburg.
