History and Culture: Exhibition “Russian Classical Art of 18th – early 20th Century” underway in Krasnoyarsk

The V. I. Surikov Krasnoyarsk Museum of Art is staging the exhibition “Russian Classical Art of 18th – 20th Century”, which will run until February 3, 2019.

On display are portraits, dating from the 18th century, landscapes and still life paintings of the 19th century, works by Peredvizhniki (“The Wanderers”) - Ilya Repin, Ivan Kramskoy, Vladimir Makovsky, Ivan Shishkin, Illarion Pryanishnikov along with artworks of other great masters such as Isaac Levitan, Ivan Aivazovsky and Alexander Benois; works of the early 20th century by Nicholas Roerich, Konstantin Korovin, Mikhail Nesterov and Stanislav Zhukovsky; paintings by Vasily Surikov; and an impressive collection of Russian icons.
