Internet and Culture: Moscow Mayor’s website to launch an online tour of the Bolshoi Theater

It is possible to visit the Bolshoi Theater without leaving home. The online tour will be released on March 5, at 16:00, on the Moscow Mayor's official website, as well as on the official pages of mos.ru in the Vkontakte and Odnoklassniki social networks.

Users will see luxurious interiors and learn the history of the country's most famous theater. Larisa Cherepanova, a senior researcher of the Bolshoi Theater Museum, will tell about the stage construction, artists' rehearsal halls, underground floors, imperial box. Besides, the tour showcases the rooms closed for visitors.

The Bolshoi Theater is an object of the cultural heritage of federal significance. It is one of the largest opera and ballet theaters in Russia and the most notable in the world. The building was designed by architect Christian Rozberg in 1776-1789.
