Society and Culture: Mariinsky Theatre to host the "Northern Lira" IV International Harp Festival

From March 19 to March 22, 2020, the Mariinsky Theater will host the "Northern Lira" International Harp Festival for the fourth time. As usual, the festival is devoted to Yoko Nagae Ceschina, a Japanese harpist, philanthropist, friend of the Mariinsky Theater.

The festival is attended by artists of Saint-Petersburg and Moscow orchestras and guests from abroad - Wales, Israel, Japan, Iraq, and Colombia.

The festival will introduce the Saint-Petersburg audience to new instruments - the harp's kinds and relatives. There will be played the works of composers from the XVI to the XXI centuries, from Monteverdi to the new composition by Valeri Kikta, as well as national music - Japanese, Arabic, Latin American, jazz compositions. Many works will be performed for the first time in Saint-Petersburg (Russia).
