Internet and Culture: "Discover Moscow" portal to provide an online tour to the sights related to life and career of Afanasy Fet

December 5 marks the 200th anniversary of Afanasy Fet, the Russian lyric poet, translator and memoirist. Especially for the memorable date, the "Discover Moscow" portal prepared an online guide to the sights associated with Fet.

The new virtual route on the "Discover Moscow" portal features photographs of streets and houses in the centre of the capital, which preserve the memory of the poet's life and work.

"The online guide is an interactive map with nine points - houses and streets in Moscow centre, associated with the life and work of the poet. Photographs and detailed information about sights are available by clicking at the points. So, a virtual route will introduce users to the places where the poet lived and studied, literary salons he attended", said Sergey Shakryl, curator of IT cultural and business projects of the IT Department.
