Internet and culture: Online presentation of the website dedicated to Moscow Region Petrovskoe-Alabino estate

2 December 2021

The State Public Historical Library of Russia provides an online presentation of the website dedicated to the Petrovskoe-Alabino estate near Moscow on December 2 at 16:00.

The ensemble of the Petrovskoe-Alabino estate, which appeared at the end of the 18th century, has witnessed the life of several eminent dynasties of Russia. The ingenuity in architecture, coupled with the beauty of the landscapes, amazed with its grandeur. But this was not always the case: since 1917, the estate began to fade away rapidly and today only ruins remain of it.

The Petrovskoe-Alabino estate is a vivid example of how great architectural monuments of the past are forgotten and disappear. Unique architectural solutions, still distinguishable among the ruins, do not let the interest in the manor fade away. An attempt to draw attention to the once majestic monument of architecture is the website Petrovskoe-Alabino.

The presented website in a popular science form tells about the structure of the estate, its history and also provides an opportunity to view the historical photo chronicle of the estate until 2021.

The author of the work is Mikhail Kazakov, student of the Faculty of Humanities of the Russian State Social University. The event is held on the ZOOM platform, within the framework of a joint project of the State Public Historical Library of Russia and the Russian State Social University - the laboratory "Unsustainable".
