History and Culture: Omsk to hold the "When the Clock Strikes Twelve" exhibition, devoted to the New Year and Christmas celebrations

31 December 2021

The Mikhail Vrubel Museum (Omsk) launched an unusual exhibition "When the Clock Strikes Twelve", devoted to the New Year and Christmas celebrations.

One of the popular symbols of the New Year is a dial with hands approaching the twelve. The exhibition features an unusual object - a big mantel clock with a mirrored dial, transparent under certain lighting and revealing the mechanism inside.

The exposition represents the atmosphere of the scientist's office, eccentric and collector of rarities, and a magician. Antique furniture and interior objects, a collection of outlandish items, including floor, mantel and pocket clocks create an atmosphere of mystery. A similar feeling of anticipation of miracles and discoveries appears on New Year's eve. A decorated fir tree, beautiful winter landscapes, a collection of New Year's decorations also make the festive air.
