Museums of Russia: Treasures of the Tretyakov Gallery exhibited in Yakutsk

Tretyakov Gallery (Moscow) presents the large-scale exhibition project in the National Art Museum of Republic of Sakha (Yakutia), marking the 100th anniversary since the founding of the Yakut ASSR.

In the 1920s, the Government of Republic of Sakha (Yakutia) and the research society “Sakha Keskile” (the Future of the Yakuts) contributed to the establishment of an art gallery. In 1928, the historic event took place: 27 paintings were acquired from the collections of the Tretyakov Gallery and launched the collections of the National Art Museum of Republic of Sakha (Yakutia).

The pieces presented at the exhibition are the examples of classical Russian and Soviet art: portraits, landscapes, still lifes, genre paintings, many of which visitors have known about since childhood.

The exhibition is also decorated with portraits of Russian figures of art and science, bearers of spiritual and cultural values of the Fatherland.

The plot-thematic paintings by Russian artists are particularly noteworthy. The exposition is also complemented by sculptural works.

The exhibition will run until July 17, 2022.
