Serguei Naryshkin, the director of the Kremlin administration of the Russian Federation, chairman of the Commission at the President of the Russian Federation on the counteraction against attempts of falsification of the history at the expense of the interest of Russia convoked the participants of this new administrative body for the first time.

On the meeting Mr.Naryshkin said that this deliberative body “doesn’t have for purpose the transcription of the history, and doesn’t intend to be some censor or supervisor. We estimate the freedom of the historical science and understand that the historical truth must  be defended, first of all, on the base of the origin. The effective method of counteraction against the falsification is the wide introduction of new documents, including unclassified, on our country’s history into the scientific use.

It is necessary to fortify the concernment of historical knowledge on the higher level, and that’s why the Commission intends to attract attention to the quality of manuals on history”, he said.

Mr.Naryshkin reminded that today “in a majority of non-profile high schools the course of history doesn’t  exceed 52 hours, and for the last 15 years schools have received hundreds of manuals, and many of them are of disputable quality, and some of them contain mistakes, humiliating the role of the country in the world history”. As for teachers of history, they often can not interpret historical events, releasing them from jaundice and lie”, he said and added that the Commission must pay attention to that.
