Libraries of Russia: The 13th International Conference and exhibition “Information Technologies, Computer Systems and Publications for Libraries” “LIBCOM-2009”

The 13^th International Conference and exhibition “Information Technologies, Computer Systems and Publications” “LIBCOM-2009” takes place in Zvenigorod District, Moscow region during 16-20 November 2009.

The participants will discuss the state and prospects of new information, computer and Internet technologies development in library and information practice; system and network integration of information and library resources and other urgent issues:

– digital libraries and digital information resources;

–new educational technologies;

– legal aspects of libraries and information providers activities;

– interaction of book publishers, booksellers and libraries;

– free access and open archives of information;

–innovative and investment support of business-projects in education, science, culture, industry, state-of-the-art technologies etc.

The Conference Program is based on accepted participant’s proposals and special invitations issued by the Organizing Committee to the leading specialists and experts in the Conference topics as well as to providers of information, computer and Internet products to libraries.

A special exhibition operates during the Conference. The Exhibition focuses on the following issues: new computer technologies in information business and librarianship, Internet technologies, digital information and digital resources in libraries and information technologies, book trade, library equipment and materials, academic technologies as well as other related issues.
