President of Russia: All veterans, awarded state decorations, receive orders and medals

In commemoration of 65th Victory anniversary in the World War II all the veterans, who were awarded state decorations, are going to receive their orders and medals, announced the President of the Russian Federation, Dmitry Medvedev at the award ceremony, which brought together the Great Patriotic War veterans.

Due to different reasons some veterans, who were awarded orders and medals during the Great Patriotic War, were only recently able to receive those decorations.  "And the award ceremony today is actually concluding this significant work", - said the President. "We hope to complete it by the Victory anniversary Day", - promised Dmitry Medvedev.

The President congratulated veterans on the Defender of the Fatherland Day and the Great Victory anniversary, which will be marked this year. "In 1945 it was you, who saved the world, our country, our future accomplishments, and proved that love to the Fatherland,  high spirit, valour of soldiers and officers made our Army undefeatable", - added the President.
