Adaptation to the new information reality should be carried out at school. This was a core topic at the second interregional practical seminar, dedicated to the introduction of continuing information education technologies, which has finished in Elbrus District, Kabardino-Balkaria.

"School should prepare the youth for the life in the information society", - remarked Zalim Murtazov, Head of the Education Modernization Department of the Ministry of Education and Science of Kabardino-Balkaria. "Digital and telecommunication technologies, among them Internet, remote technologies, including “e-government” and education are becoming increasingly popular today. Even the cellular phone – is a mini-computer. This brings a different way of life.  To be successful you should know how to make use of them", - Mr. Murtazov is convinced. "It is essential to create conditions for a continuing information education and self-education", - emphasized Mr. Murtazov.

The 3-day training event brought together specialists from 25 regions of Russia, who participate in the program of the Ministry of Education and Science of the Russian Federation “Continuing Information Education”.

Ten principal schools, located in each region of the Kabardino-Balkar Republic are included into a unified network of the Republic. The lesson of an experienced teacher may be broadcasted to all the project’s participants.  Over 80% teachers of Republic have received computer technology education, many of them use computer technologies during lessons.

In Kabardino-Balkaria 1 computer is provided for 18 pupils, what is higher than the average figure across Russia. In 2009 the 315 million roubles’ grant aimed at Kabardino-Balkaria schools’ modernization, brought about a breakthrough in equipment supply.
