Libraries of Russia: Universal bibliomobile to start operating in Vologda

The first Russian bibliomobile is now in Vologda. The complex of information and library service arrived to Vologda in July. On August 27 bibliomobile went on its first business trip to Kubenskoye village of Vologda region as a part of the “Large book – meetings in province” project. In the nearest future bibliomobile will be visiting Vytegra and Chagoda.

The complex of information and library service is equipped with all the necessary things: over 100 books, over 200 media editions. For instance, the works by Sergey Yesenin could not just be read but also listened to as audio books. There are 2 notebooks connected to a satellite dish, a Xerox, a scanner. There is also an autonomous generator to enable operation without electricity network. Automobile is also equipped with an elevator for invalid chair. On the whole up to 5-7 persons can work inside it, - describes bibliomobile Larisa Kozlova, head of Intrasystem Book Exchange Division.

The library received a new bibliomobile free of charge. “Pushkin Library” Nonprofit Foundation for the Support of Book Publishing, Education and New Information Technologies (Moscow, Russia) provides regional libraries with bibliobuses on the order of the RF Ministry of Culture. It equipped the automobile completely. The employees of the Vologda Regional Library added to the library complex just regional literature.
