4 August 2010
According to social polls, the great and mighty Russian language is the forth influential language in the world. 6% of the European Union’s population (almost 30 million people) know the Russian language. Dozens of Russian language centers which aim at popularization of the Russian language have been set up worldwide. They are actively operating in the USA and Belgium, Azerbaijan and Armenia, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyztan, Tajikistan, Estonia and Latvia, and even in China and Japan. Philologists of the St. Petersburg Pedagogical University believe that the Russian language may become the language of tolerance. They have developed a unique ABC book for children from CIS countries. The experiment will take place at schools of the town of Pushkin.
