Annual Address of the President of Russia Dmitry Medvedev to the Federal Assembly: State takes credit for .РФ (.RF) domain zone launch on Internet

The President of Russia Dmitry Medvedev emphasized that the state deserved credit for launch of the .РФ (.RF) domain zone on Internet.

In the annual Address to the Federal Assembly on November 30 2010 the head of the state stressed: “We have taught the web Russian language. It is important for our country. .РФ domain zone is opened and is quickly growing in popularity. I reckon that this is our accomplishment as well”.

Medvedev also announced that Russia was planning to build over a thousand of objects of the state digital TV network.

He underscored that the satellite constellation for the navigation satellite system GLONASS would be completed by the end 2010.

“By the end of the year will be completed GLONASS constellation of satellites, while in a couple of years will be finished the development of main digital navigation maps and will begin implementation of satellite system navigators”, - Medvedev highlighted.

The head of the state emphasized that the TOP-500 of supercomputers featured about 11 Russian systems.

The President noted that the following year the performance of Russian supercomputer “Lomonosov” would more than double becoming one of the most powerful computers worldwide.

It was the third time that Dmitry Medvedev holding the post of the head of the state delivered his annual Address to the Federal Assembly.

The address is considered to be the key policy document which focuses the society on the problems which are supposed by the President to be the top priority and a mechanism of their solutions. This year’s address delivered by the head of the state to the parliament has become the 17th in their history.
