Digital curation manages, maintains, preserves, and adds value to digital data throughout the lifecycle, reducing threats to long-term value, mitigating the risk of digital obsolescence and enhancing usefulness for research and scholarship.

In 2010 the 6th International Digital Curation Conference (IDCC) in Chicago will be presented jointly by the Digital Curation Centre (DCC) and the Graduate School of Library and Information Science, University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign and in partnership with the Coalition for Networked Information (CNI).

On 6 December 2010 were held workshops, with the main conference taking place on 7 and 8 December 2010.
