Presidential Library develops cooperation with Far-Eastern universities

February 25 2011, Khabarovsk, the Presidential Library and the Pacific State University signed an agreement on foundation of the library’s reading room, which will be operating at the facility of the Pacific State University Scientific Library.

The agreement on cooperation was signed by the Deputy Director of the Presidential Library for Branch Work S. M. Makeev and rector of the Pacific State University S.N. Ivanchenko.

The Deputy Director of the Presidential Library stressed that cooperation with the Pacific State University would become a new stage in implementation of a project called to set up a network of Presidential library’s branches in the Far East. It will mark the beginning of cooperation between the library and region’s educational institutions.

Within the framework of his visit the Deputy Director of the Presidential Library took part in the meeting of the Council of Rectors of Khabarovsk Krai and Jewish Autonomous Oblast Universities, held a presentation of the Presidential library and its information projects for the council’s participants.

In June 2010 Khabarovsk held a meeting of the Council under the Authorized Representative of the President of Russia in the Far-Eastern Federal District V.I. Ishayev, which discussed foundation of the Presidential Library’s branches in the Far East.

Presently the Presidential Library is cooperating with 9 areas of the region, including Magadan Oblast, Kamchatka Krai and Khabarovsk Krai.
