On June 7, 2011 Google released stable Chrome 12. Browser got rid of some of its vulnerabilities, detected in previous versions, and added a number of notable features.

One of such features is enhancement to Safe Browsing technology. In addition to protecting users from certain malware and phishing websites, Chrome now warns Net surfers before downloading some types of malicious files. If user is certain that this file poses no risks he may ignore this warning and continue downloading.

Chrome 12 also gives more control over the data that websites store on users’ computers. In the browser’s settings users can now remove cookies files created by Adobe Flash Player (so-called Local Stored Objects or LSO). Using LSO some websites can track users’ behavior on the web. Flash LSO deletion has been integrated directly into Chrome, making it easier for users to manage their online privacy.

Chrome’s graphics capabilities continue to improve. The release includes support for hardware-accelerated 3D CSS on computers running Windows Vista and Windows 7 or Mac OS X 10.6 or above. Users can now launch apps directly from the Omnibox by typing the app's name.

Google has removed 14 flaws and paid over $10 thousand to developers who detected them. The largest $3 thousand bonus went to the student of Tyumen State University Sergei Glazunov.

Beta version of Chrome 12 came out in the first half of May, while Chrome 11 appeared in late April.
