Peoples of Russia: Exhibition “Visual Arts of Mordovia” kicks off in Moscow

The Central House of Artists in Moscow has staged an exhibition “Visual Arts of Mordovia” which is timed to celebration of 1000th anniversary of unity between the Mordvin people and peoples of Russia. The exhibition showcases national embroidery, ceramics, birch bark items, wood carving, paintings and sculptures of masters, who practice different styles.

The exhibition puts on display 200 works by 60 authors – this is the largest exhibition of Mordovia’s art in the past decade outside the republic.

The Mordvinian masters have brought to the capital city of Russia everything what was contributed to the Russian culture within 1000 years of unity: unique lime tree handicraft, many-voiced singing and even ethno-futurism.
