Center offering access to Presidential library’s resources to open its doors in Birobidzhan

On July 12, 2011 Boris Yeltsin Presidential Library and the Government of the Jewish Autonomous Oblast signed a cooperation agreement. Its key clause stipulates concentration of joint efforts on opening of the regional access center to information resources of the Presidential Library.

The cooperation agreement was signed by Director General of the Presidential Library A. P. Vershinin and Governor of Jewish Autonomous Region A. A. Vinnikov. The center giving access to resources of the Presidential Library is going to open its doors at the facility of Birobidzhan Sholem Aleichem Universal Scientific Library.

The library has been developing cooperation with the Jewish Autonomous Region since September 2010. It was then that in Birobidzhan was held a working meeting of representatives of the Presidential Library with Vice-Chairperson of the Regional Government I. N. Pinchuk. During the negotiations participants discussed the possibility of foundation of the regional access center to library’s resources and plans on shaping regional information resources.

Under the resolution of the President of the Russian Federation of June 18, 2007 branches of Boris Yeltsin Presidential Library will be set up in all constituent territories of the country.
