Internet and culture: “Art and Architecture of Russian Emigrants” website presented in St. Petersburg

On November 9 2011 St. Petersburg House of Nationalities is holding a presentation of a new website “Art and Architecture of Russian Emigrants”, which is a part of the electronic encyclopedia project which casts the light on the cultural heritage of white émigré.

The electronic encyclopedia of cultural heritage of emigrants has been developed by St. Petersburg Committee for External Relations within the Program of St. Petersburg Government for implementation of the RF state policy regarding compatriots living abroad for 2011-2013 (The Program “Compatriots”).

The electronic encyclopedia and its part – “Art and Architecture of Russian Emigrants” website are worked out by the Committee in partnership with D. S. Likhachev Foundation.

“Art and Architecture of Russian Emigrants” website is called to accumulate and promote academic knowledge concerning artistic culture of Russian emigrants of the first half of 20th century.

The website contains unique information on artists and architects of the Russian abroad, accumulated by many researchers within past two decades.
