Society and culture: Annual Conference “Problems of Preservation of Cultural Heritage. 21st century” in Petergof

In April 2012 the Culture Preserve "Peterhof" will hold Annual Conference "Problems of Preservation of Cultural Heritage. 21st century". The conference theme is "A monument of architecture - from palace to museum."

When applied to a modern museum, 21st century innovations should always meet the requirements of conservation of monuments which house these museums. However, in practice these problems are often found in deep inner conflict.

The State Culture Preserve "Peterhof" invites colleagues to discuss the most pressing issues of preservation historical monuments, which trouble today the museum community worldwide. The conference will discuss both domestic and foreign experiences in solving the stated problem, and also relevant areas of museum modernization in recent years.

The conference welcomes historians, art historians, cultural experts, architects, museum staff, workers of scientific and educational centers.
