World History: Workshop Conference “Siberia and Russian America” in Irkutsk

On March 27 2012 the museum studio of Irkutsk Regional Local Lore Museum is holding a workshop conference “Siberia and Russian America” which is devoted to 200th anniversary of Fort Ross, The Year of the Russian History and the Year of the United States in Russia. The conference is held in partnership with Irkutsk Region Government. The central theme of the conference has become a discussion of problems related to the history of the Russian America, the place and role of Irkutsk in development of the northern part of the Pacific Ocean and foundation of the Russian-American Company.

The conference has attracted eminent historians from Irkutsk – researchers of the Russian America, and also scholars from different Russian cities.
