To the 400th anniversary of reign of the Romanov dynasty: V Rovmanovs Readings in Kostroma

15-16 March 2012, in the framework of the Romanovs Festival in Kostroma are held traditional V Romanovs Readings. The forum is attended by over 200 scientists, university professors, local historians, historians and archivists from 12 regions of Russia. In the Year of Russian History, the Romanovs Readings are devoted to the birth of the Russian statehood and the role of Kostroma in its formation.

The forum includes: a plenary session, breakup groups devoted to the problems of historiography, source studies, new approaches to the study of Russian history, of the protection of the country from external threats, and of the new pages in the history of the war of 1812; reflections of the history of Russian power in the artistic and musical works, sculpture and architecture, symbolism and heraldry.

Traditionally, the materials of the Readings are to be published as a collection of scientific papers, addressed to researchers, teachers, graduate students, socio-political organizations and associations, educational and cultural institutions, representatives of state and regional authorities.

The Romanovs Readings have been held annually since 2008 as a part of the preparation for the celebration of the 400th anniversary of the election of Romanovs to the Russian throne, and the end of the Time of Troubles.
