Exhibitions: All-Russian festival of the bone carving art opened in Yakutia

July 3, the IV All-Russian festival of the bone carving art of the peoples of Russia, where famous masters presented their products, including those of mammoth tusk, opened in Yakutia.

The festival takes place in order to implement in the Republic a large-scale exhibition project in the field of applied arts, the preservation of material and spiritual culture of the peoples of Russia, stimulating the growth of bone carvers’ artists and exchange of experience between the subjects of folk arts and crafts of different regions.

More than 50 artists of bone carvers from Arkhangelsk, Magadan region, Chukotka, Kamchatka, Moscow and St. Petersburg will present their products at the festival. In Yakutsk, the unique bone carving masterpieces of craftsmanship - the icons and bone chess, Yakut handle knives from mammoth ivory and antler, walrus ivory inlay from on the gun will be shown in Yakutsk.
