Russian libraries: IX All-Russian seminar “Problems of Security of Libraries and Collections” in St. Petersburg

September 20-21, 2012 in St. Petersburg the National Library of Russia is hosting the IX All-Russian Seminar "Problems of Security of Libraries and Collections."

At the seminar the following issues will be considered:

- Modern technologies to protect library collections from theft, damage, and other criminal offenses;

- Regulatory and legal aspects of security of libraries and library collections;

- Prevention and containment of emergencies in libraries (fires, natural disasters, etc.);

- Work experience of security services of Russian libraries;

- The implementation of the sub-program "Security of library collections" under the National program for the preservation of library collections;

- International experience in providing security to cultural institutions.
