World history: Exhibition “Russian America: from Ryazan to Yukon” in Ryazan

December 7, 2012 exhibition halls of the Museum of History of youth movement in Ryazan opened a traveling exhibition “Russian America: from Ryazan to Yukon”, prepared by the Ryzan Museum of travelers.

Its exposition reflects the contribution to the study of famous Ryazan pioneers of past and modern explorers.

The exhibition consists of two parts. The historical part presents the retrospective opening, settlement and exploration of Alaska. Here you can see life and activity of L. A. Zagoskin, V. M. Golovin and P. V. Povalishin, to see the presented to the wide public a real portrait of Commander V. Bering, to learn about reasons of the sale of Alaska. 

The second part deals with traveling to Alaska, it shows the connection of Russia and Alaska after 150 years from the moment of sale of the US colony.
