International conferences: Scientific conference, dedicated to the 180th anniversary of the birth of Pavel Tretyakov, in Moscow

Scientific conference “Pavel Tretyakov. Predecessors and successors: private and museum collecting of the XVIII – early XX century” is held at the State Tretyakov Gallery on 3-4 December, 2012 in Moscow. The conference is dedicated to the 180th anniversary of the birth of Pavel Mikhailovich Tretyakov.

The Conference is attended by researchers of museums and institute educators of Moscow, St. Petersburg, Saratov and other cities of Russia, as well as art from museums and universities from Ukraine, Italy, and France.

The first day of the conference was dedicated to various aspects of collecting, related both to the life and work of the Tretyakov brothers and their immediate environment, and their contemporaries. The second day is dedicated to collecting activity of predecessors and successors of founders of the Tretyakov Gallery.

The purpose of the conference is the consolidation of the efforts of different specialists in understanding the problems of collecting in the XVIII –early XX century, exchange of research information and its introduction to the scientific circulation.
