Russian museums: The branch of the Hermitage to be open in Yekaterinburg

The branch of the Hermitage will be open in Yekaterinburg, said the Minister of Culture of the Sverdlovsk region, Pavel Krekov.

“Now the project is under the practical development of regional authorities and the Federal Ministry of Culture”, - said the head of the regional Ministry of Culture, adding that the establishment of the branch will make Yekaterinburg more visible on the map of Russia and the world.

At the moment representatives offices of the Hermitage are located only in two Russian cities – Vyborg and Kazan, as well as abroad, in Ferrara and Amsterdam. For 2015 it is planned the opening of the branch of the museum in Barcelona. Also it was planned to open the branch of the Hermitage in the Moscow region.
