Multimedia technology in the modern library: the vector of development” in Moscow

March 27, 2013 in the N. A. Nerkrasov Central Universal Scientific Library in Moscow is held the Interregional Scientific-Practical Conference “Information and Multimedia technology in the modern library: the vector of development”.

The topic of the conference 2013 – “Cloud technology for Libraries: reality and perspectives”.

At the conference it is supposed to discuss the following issues:

Modern systems of telecommunications in libraries: library video conferences and video bridges;

Cloud technology as a modern instrument for the functional extension of electronic catalogue;

Opportunities to provide digitized documents in libraries, copy protection and unauthorized access (including documents, protected by copyright);

Availability and storage of information: new opportunities of libraries;

 Opportunities to provide to the public of library and information services in electronic form and remote services;

The quality content and online-services, user-oriented;

Introduction of cloud services in libraries.

The program of the conference provides presentations of representatives of the Government of Moscow, leaders and leading specialists of libraries, specialists in information technology and electronic resources, representatives of companies, which are the developers and providers of cloud solutions. As part of the Conference, it will be held the exhibition of new information technology for libraries. 

At the library-information web site “BiblioGorod” (www.bibliogorod.ru) is planned the live broadcast of the Conference.
