Libraries of Russia: The All-Russian scientific-practical conference “Collections of libraries in the digital era: traditional and electronic resources, acquisition, use” in Saint-Petersburg

The All-Russian scientific-practical conference “Collections of libraries in the digital era: traditional and electronic resources, acquisitions, use” is held from March 25-29, 2013 in the National Library of Russia (Saint-Petersburg).

To participate in the conference are invited specialists in the field of acquisitions of library funds, librarians, informational workers and other specialists of libraries, publishers, aggregators, company representatives.

The conference focuses on the following topics:

- Tendencies of the formation of market of electronic resources in Russia and problems of acquisitions:

      - Reformation of federal law about the necessary document in the field of electronic resources.

- Copyright and concerns of the acquisition and the use of electronic resources in libraries. International efforts to reform the system of copyright. Exceptions for libraries. The new version of Part IV of the Civil Code. Current initiatives WIPO, IFLA.

      - National projects in the field of aggregation of electronic resources of the National Digital Library. The National library resource. The unified system of access to full-text resources of libraries of education and science in a single online resource.

       - Trends in the market for electronic resources in Russia (e-books, ELS, electronic subscription resources, etc., electronic resources in the local media.

      - “Electronic library systems” in libraries and schools.

      - Sale of electronic resources. Business-models of interaction with libraries.

      - Print of demand: possibilities of using the library.

      - Resources of open access and open archives for scientific information in the formation of library.

      - Electronic resources in libraries: acquisitions and service.

     - Signature electronic resources: problems of selection, testing and maintenance.

     - Experience of libraries in acquisitions and use of electronic resources.

     - Formation of electronic resources of library collections; remote resources and own generation resources.

     - Digital libraries and traditional collections: issues of interaction and mutual influence.

There will be held the exhibition as part of the conference.
