18 March 2013

March 17, 2013 the A. S. Pushkin State Museum-Reserve “Mikhaylovskoye” hosted the exhibition “The Pskov province” from the collection of the Pushkin Reserve.

There are more than one hundred paintings and drawings from the Pushkin Reserve collection. They are views of Pskov, Izborsk, Velya, Holy Mountains and “The Pushkin corner” – Mikhaylovskoye, Trigorskoye, Petrovskoye, Golubov.

The earliest by time work relates to the year 1837. This is a lithograph from a drawing of Paul Alexandrov from the painting of the Pskov provincial surveyor Ilya Ivanov, depicting the city wall of Pskov. The sheet includes the “Gallery of Pskov and its surroundings, taken from nature, published by Pskov provincial surveyor Ivanov”. This is album, which includes eight kinds of historical attractions, among them - the only image of the estate in Mikhaylovskoye of 30's of the XIX century. Graphic sheets are the most reliable and detailed images of memorable places at the time of Pushkin. In 1838, Ivanov published “Atlas of the Pskov region” containing colored lithographs - nine cards with images of the city of Pskov, and eight districts of the Pskov province.
