Society and law: The III St. Petersburg International Legal Forum

15 May 2013

The III St. Petersburg International Legal Forum takes place from the 15th to the 18th of May, 2013.

The Forum was established in 2011 by the Ministry of Justice and is supported by the President of the Russian Federation.

The Forum has already become the premier platform for dialogue between politicians, lawyers, economists, and scientists from all major economic and legal systems. More than two thousand people from 51 countries attended the event last year, among them 21 delegations headed by the Minister and Deputy Minister of Justice.

The topic of the Plenary Session 2013 is “Competition and Cooperation between Legal Systems: the Role of Law in Ensuring the Development of Society, the State, and the Economy.” Discussions will focus on a broad range of issues in law, business, politics, and culture. The Forum’s business programme will now be organized into tracks based on principal legal specializations.

In addition to the discussion sessions at the 2013 Forum, the programme will include a variety of satellite events. Thanks to the new format of communication participants can establish business contacts, hold talks, and share experiences with colleagues.

Representatives of all legal specializations, public authorities and businesses, and educational and socio-cultural institutions are invited to participate in the III St. Petersburg International Legal Forum.
