Libraries and society: The interactive map of libraries to appear in Moscow

In Moscow will be created an interactive architectural map of libraries with a detailed features of each building, said the deputy director of the Moscow City Library Center (MCLC) Boris Kupriyanov. At first, it will cover 11 sites.

The project curator Maria Chertkova said that in addition to describing the architectural features of buildings of libraries, the map will tell about the features of each Fund. For example, you can find out which building houses works by Pushkin, translated into ten foreign languages, where a sound library is, musical room, music room, where visitors can play the piano. Also on the map will be given answers by simple “user” questions - for example, where a free zone Wi-Fi is, where you can come with your laptop, if you can recharge your phone or get a bibliographic reference to the book and etc.

According to the curator of the MCLC, the map will be ready by mid-September. It will be placed at official web sites of libraries, as well as the professional literature portals. In the future, based on the design of the scheme it is planned to conduct free tours for citizens.
