Memory of Russia: International festival of military-historical reconstruction and medieval culture “Iron city” in Izborsk

International festival of military-historical reconstruction and medieval culture “Iron city” takes place in Izborsk on 3-4 August 2013.

The program involves more than 30 clubs of the reconstruction from Russia, Belarus and the Baltic states. First the “Iron city” will be attended by enactors from Israel and Transcarpathia. Totally it is expected to be about 400 participants. At the festival is recreated the era of Rus of 13-14 centuries and Europe of 14-16 centuries.

Traditional events such as horseback riding, hiking tournaments, historical costume parade, tournament archers and authentic musical performance groups, this year will be supplemented by new interactive platforms and competitions.

August 3 for the first time on “Iron city” will be held a mass combat battle, which will be attended by about 200 members of the historic clubs. Another “highlight” of the festival will be the performance of the Belarusian Theater “St. Elmo’s fire”, which deals with the reconstruction of representations of street European theaters of Middle Ages.
