To the 400th anniversary of the Romanovs: Exhibition “The Romanovs in Petersburg” at the Peter and Paul Fortress

8 November 2013

November 8, 2013 in the Engineering building of the Peter and Paul Fortress (Saint-Petersburg) opens the exhibition "The Romanovs in Saint-Petersburg".

The exhibition is timed to celebrate the 400th anniversary of the Imperial House of the Romanovs. It will present portraits of the Romanovs from the collection of the State Museum of History of St. Petersburg of Archaeology II, A. P. Antropov, L. S. Miropolsky, Marie-Louise Vigee-Lebrun, G. Kugelhen and others.

The history of Saint-Petersburg since its foundation and until 1917 was closely associated with the Imperial House of the Romanovs, whose representatives, as the reigning emperors, and grand dukes and duchesses, had a significant influence on the development of Petersburg culture and art, science, education, industry and public institutions.

The exhibits of the exposition: books and documents, photographs, memorable medals, works of art and drawings will tell about this.
