Information technology and culture: The Pushkin Museum of Fine Arts presented mobile application “Italian painting of the VIII – XX centuries”

The Pushkin Museum of Fine Arts (Moscow) presents the first application for the iPad on the collection "Italian painting of the VIII - XX centuries". It is prepared on the basis of the same electronic catalog of the Museum at the website www.italian-art.ru and includes 188 works of the most famous Italian paintings. The canvases cover 13 centuries of history of the Italian school of painting, combined into four chronological periods.

The catalogue can be viewed in chronological order, artists, genres and subjects, or use the search by author and title picture. All the works are provided with detailed text descriptions, and the images can be enlarged for detailed viewing.

The application also provides the history collections of paintings by Italian masters in the Museum and a description of the school development of Italian painting in each of the time periods.

The application is released in three languages ​​- Russian, English and Italian. To switch language version can be possible on the main page or in the section "About the project".
