Information technology and culture: New website for mobile devices “The Russian Museum: the augmented reality” launched

In 2013, was held the launch of new mobile website "The Russian Museum: the augmented reality" - rmgallery.ru. The principle which is used in the mobile website – is the same as in the original version of the "Augmented Reality" – the scan of QR-code and immediate delivery of additional information (annotation and audio stories). But now, visitors of the museum do not need to download the application (as it was in the first version of the project), but rather to scan QR- code scanner ordinary mobile device.

If the user is not on display, he has the option of using his mobile device to be logged the website rmgallery.ru, open the section "Gallery" and get access to the same information. The website is an alphabetical catalog of artists, as well as by type of index of the fine arts and genres. In the section "Projects" is planned to place QR-codes for independent projects within the museum. Currently there are available codes on participants of the festival "Imperial Gardens 2013".

A separate section contains a summary of the museum complex, contacts, hours of work and an interactive map showing the objects of the Russian Museum. The mobile website created in Russian and English, is available to all users of mobile devices with Internet access.
