To the 20th anniversary of the Constitution of the Russian Federation: International Conference “The Constitution as the basis of the political system of the state” took place in Vienna
December 2, 2013 in Vienna at the Esterhazy palace took place an international conference on the theme "The Constitution as the basis of the political system of the state", dedicated to the 20th anniversary of the Constitution of the Russian Federation. The event was organized by the Center for Eurasian Studies at the University of Vienna, Rossotrudnichestvo and the Russian Embassy in Austria.
The reports of the Russian delegation about the history of the creation, maintenance and development prospects of the Constitution of the Russian Federation, its role in the processes of democratization of Russian society and the ensuing debate aroused the interest of the audience.
December 3, at the press club of the cathedral of St. Stephen for the delegation of Russian scientists was organized a press conference, which was attended by representatives of leading Austrian media and Russian journalists. The participants were asked questions about the current Constitution of the Russian Federation, the Russian political system, the implementation of the constitutional provisions in real political life of our country. During the event, a suggestion was made to hold a conference on a regular basis at venues alternating the Lomonosov Moscow State University and the University of Vienna to discuss issues of constitutional processes in different countries.
According to the Russian and Austrian participants, the conference was important for the exchange of views, the search for new ways of cooperation of legal scholars, historians, political scientists of the two countries.
