World history and culture: International exhibition project “Roerich Pact. Past and Present” in Tver

In 2014, that was declared the Year of Culture in Russia, the International exhibition project “Roerich Pact. Past and Present”, organized by the International center of Roerich and the International Committee for the Conservation of the Roerich heritage, continues its march across the country.

The first city in the Central region, where from February 21, 2014 opened a traveling exhibition, was an ancient city of Tver, rich with its history and monuments of culture.

The exhibition is based on documents from the archive of Nikolas K. Roerich. The exposition features photographs, showing the history of the origin of the idea of Pact; photographs of monuments of culture, destroyed during the armed conflict; documents telling of the relevance of the Pact; reproductions on canvases of N. K. Roerich, as well as a photo exhibition “Destroyed by human error, restored by human hope”, interpreting the condition of monuments in Tver and the Tver region.

The exhibition will run till March 23. It provides an extensive cultural program, and on the closing day will be held a traditional action with participation of Tver schoolchildren “Voice of Tver in defense of the Earth”.
