History and culture: New exhibition project “Archaeology of the New Time” in Kolomenskoye

February 14, 2014 in the basement of the palace of Tsar Alexei Mikhailovich in the Museum-Reserve "Kolomenskoye" took place the opening of the exhibition project "Archaeology of the New Time" on archaeological excavations and villages of Kolomenskoye and Deakovo.

The replenishment of the Facility "Archeology", the largest in the museum-reserve (over 80,000 items), occurs mainly due to the inclusion of items of archaeological excavations. The principle of storing items in the collection is a comprehensive, collection. This allows getting reliable and comprehensive information on the archaeological sites of the museum, reliable attribution and date objects.

The exhibition features several collections of archaeological excavations carried out in the last decade on the territory of ancient villages of Kolomenskoye and Deakovo.

Buildings on the palace of Tsar Alexei Mikhailovich and estate complex "Ethnographic Center" was preceded by the work carried out by the Office of conservation of archaeological heritage. Excavations have provided historians to explore an interesting collection of things related to business and everyday life, trade and crafts in rural settlements in the second half of the XVII - the mid XX century.

The open storage of the fund "Archeology" you can see objects found during archaeological excavations in the Museum, which received initial treatment and marking. Subjects will have restoration and study. Collections are exhibited for the first time.
